northbound

On the 20th of August 2015 I left Italy with my family and traveled by car through Switzerland, Germany and Denmark; the final destination was Stavanger in Norway, where we arrived two days later.

We will be living here until the summer of 2017 -- or at least that's the plan. Nobody knows for sure because we depend on our employer's economic health and right now it doesn't feel too well.

We are making the most of it; but more than Giulia or me, it's Valentina that is enjoying her time here. Schools have a very different way of doing things in Norway; they go out and play everyday, whatever's the weather. Her friends are from all over the world: Kazakhstan, Scotland, Trinidad, France. She's always singing silly english songs at home, and starts speaking to her friends in english too.

We filled up every little space in our van for this trip. I only had space for a little camera and a little lens, and shot black'n'whites along the way.
